Chandran Foundation

Gala Dinner 2026

THE SAVOY, LONDON

- 13th November 2026 -

An unforgettable night at The Savoy, and a brighter future for children and young people across London.

Talent is everywhere in London's classrooms, but the opportunities aren’t.

The Chandran Foundation works inside primary schools to close that gap. We give children free small-group tutoring, creative wellbeing sessions and mentoring. The children are chosen by the teachers who know exactly how far they can go.

And they go far. At Smallwood Primary in Tooting:

8 out of 10 Year 6 pupils we supported exceeded their SATs targets
40% average improvement in maths
Over 70% met or beat their reading and spelling targets

Schools are queuing up to work with us.

OUR STORY

In 1997, Captain Kandiah Chandran MBE OBE founded the charity that became the Chandran Foundation. He arrived in the UK in 1965 and built a life's work championing communities others overlooked. In 2010 he received his OBE for services to young people in London.

Today his daughter, Chitra Chandran, carries that legacy forward. She left a twenty-year career as a commercial lawyer to lead the Foundation.

As we step into our 30th year, his belief still drives everything we do: every child deserves to be defined by their potential.

Can’t join us?

You can still change a child's story.

Every donation goes straight into tutoring, wellbeing and mentoring for London's primary school children. Got something special to offer? Donate an auction prize and help make the night unforgettable.
